will receive a copy of the book Putting
Essential Understanding of Multiplication and Division into Practice,
3-5
The
purpose of this workshop is for educators to learn best-practice,
instructional routines and strategies aligned with the Common Core
State standards (CCSS) to successfully implement the foundational
skills for multiplication. Content is built upon the instructional
shifts and increased expectations of the CCSS. Teachers will be
actively engaged in learning different instructional methods and how
to assess and prepare students for fluency.

About Gina Kling
Gina is fortunate to serve the mathematics education community in a
variety of ways. Aside from teaching elementary mathematics content
and methods courses at Western Michigan University, Gina is also an
elementary mathematics coach and a writer for Everyday Mathematics 4.
|
For
nearly a decade, Gina has focused her research on helping children
learn their basic facts in meaningful ways, work that she often
shares through professional development with practicing teachers. She
has authored numerous articles on teaching basic facts and remains
active in the elementary classroom, engaging children in developing
fluency with their basic facts.
